Cars, vans and trucks have similar engines, and then the oil level
verification procedures are similar.
An engine will have an oil filler cap, usually on top of the engine and
easily accessible from the hood or hood of the vehicle.
Dipstick oil is the main oil level indicator. To check the level, make sure
the engine is off, locate the dipstick and pull the stick out of the housing.
This stick is quite long because it needs to get to the bottom of the
engine.
After the engine has been running, the auction will be covered in oil. You
have to clean it with a clean cloth or paper towel. Do not use a dirty rag
because that could allow dirt to enter the engine and damage the engine.
The auction will have signs that indicate upper and lower the levels of oil.
Not enough oil will cause engine damage from overheating and excessive wear
resulting in possible destruction of the engine. Too much oil can seriously
damage the engine, because the oil is incompressible and a large volume of it
can stop the engine components to rotate properly.
If you need to add engine oil, remove the oil filler cap as shown.
When the CAP is removed, add engine oil enough to ensure that the level is
between the two marks of level indicator.
Add the oil about half a quart or a pint at a time and check the level with
the dip-stick.
