Hello everyone!
A recent national survey found that only one out of six American
riders is "intelligent tire" when it comes to tire pressure control, quick and
simple steps that can improve vehicle safety and fuel economy and helps tires
last longer.
Genus & Gap
There are significant differences between men and women and between young and
old riders.
Men are more likely than women to be "intelligent tire" according to the
survey. About 20 percent of men and 14 percent of women are considered
"intelligent tire". This means that fewer women know how to check your tire
pressure monthly and check the tires when they are cold (before driving). Women
know better than people where to find the correct tire pressure for their
vehicle: up or the driver's door and in the owner's manual.
There is a clearer difference between generations. Twenty-seven percent of
drivers aged 60 and older are "intelligent tire", while only 8 percent of
drivers 18-39 KNOWS the basic tips for correct tire pressure control. The survey
was conducted for the Rubber Manufacturers Association, which represents tire
manufacturers in the United States
Security risk
Worn tires pose a risk to security, waste fuel and cause premature wear of
the tire. The United States Department of energy estimates that properly
inflated tires can save approximately 11 cents per gallon to gas prices
today.
Motorists can be Tire Smart and play the part.
Pressure
Check tire pressure monthly with a rubber gauge and inflate to the pressure
recommended on the manufacturer of the vehicle.
Alignment
Wheel misalignment can cause rapid and irregular wear of the tread.
Rotation
Rotate your tires every 5,000 to 8,000 miles to help you achieve more uniform
wear.
Tread
Unusual and advanced wear can reduce the capacity of the tread to grip the
road in adverse conditions.
