What do you know about the cooling system in your car?

Hello every one!

Neglecting your cooling system and could be facing a serious engine failure.
Follow our simple controls to avoid damage to the motor and find out how work systems cooling.

How does the cooling system?
In a modern engine, only about a third of the heat produced during combustion is converted into mechanical energy to drive the vehicle. The rest is dissipated mainly by the exhaust system and through the cooling system.
The cooling system removes about one third of this heat circulate the coolant through the engine. (Coolant is a mixture of water and a special liquid concentrate which helps to inhibit corrosion forming in the engine). Heat is removed the radiator that uses air to cool the coolant.

The other important function of the cooling system is to keep the engine running at a constant temperature that is reached peak operational efficiency.
Most modern systems are under pressure to raise the boiling point of the coolant, then extreme caution should be exercised when performing maintenance, such as severe scalding could result. DO NOT REMOVE THE RADIATOR CAP WHILE THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM IS HOT.
If the cold conditions help that you may need to use antifreeze in the cooling system. Always follow the instructions of the vehicle manufacturer when using antifreeze and coolant.

What are the key components?
The components of the main cooling system are:
Radiator
Radiator Cap
Bottle of overflow or expansion
Radiator & terminals tubes
The cooling fan
The thermostat
The water pump
Water jackets & Welsh plugs

How do I prevent engine damage from the cooling system?
Many engine failures can be attributed to neglect the cooling system and could be easily avoided. The following points should help you avoid unnecessary damage to the engine:
Check the schedule in your owner's manual to change the coolant and the correct type of refrigerant required. If you are planning to change the engine coolant yourself, make sure you have a workshop manual that shows you the correct method.
Check the liquid level every week. The owners manual will explain the correct method.

What does it mean if I must continuously top up the fluid level?
If you are constantly refilling coolant level, take your vehicle to your mechanic as soon as possible. A simple mistake can turn into a major repair engine if left unattended.

What else should I do?
Check fan belt and tighten the clamps on a regular basis. The owners manual will show the frequency and method, (usually every six months or before a long trip).
The most important thing, keep an eye on the temperature gauge. Position when the temperature rises above the normal, not when the car stars to run rough or stall. If this occurs, it is usually too late and can be expensive engine repairs.
To be able to get bots run at peak efficiency, engine designers must be able to control the minimum temperature of operation, this is controlled by the thermostat.
The thermostat acts as a valve that limits the flow of coolant when the engine is cold, allowing the engine to reach operating temperature quickly. As well as engine temperature increases the flow of refrigerant.
